LAURA PEARSON-CLARK - MIXED MEDIA
Noticing the detailed art forms in nature, Laura observes and exaggerates the decorative patterns and bold colours found up-close in local landscapes to create unique mixed media compositions. There’s a distinct fusion of different cultural influences seen within her work from previous travels overseas and a playful conversation between Art and Science. Nature intertwining with the recurring theme of motherhood alongside her own creative journey does not go unnoticed. Laura works with a range of media including graphite, gouache, acrylics and pen. She aims to create eco-conscious pieces too, reusing materials and incorporating collage pieces from previous experimental work when possible.
She graduated in Fine Art Painting in 2004 and over the last 20 years has followed a creative path in many industries including magazine production, a commercial gallery, plus national and independent charities in the heritage, museum and medical research sector. It wasn’t until the pandemic and the experience of furlough that she finally made the leap to become a full-time artist. The name Art in the Burrow comes from returning to her own art practice through the lockdowns and her creative journey has been incredible. She is a Cambridge Open Studio Artist and a Committee member for the Ely Arts Festival. Her private studio is located in her hometown of Ely.
